    A Wolf Visits the Library!

    Thursday, July 31st at 6:30 p.m., Wolf Talk from Gardner, MA will teach about the wolf's behavior in captivity & in the wild, their eating habits, & packstructure. Any wolves they bring with them have been raised by them personally and are licensed with the state for education. A wonderful program for all ages!

    Wild Whale Days at the Library!

    Fiona, Beckwith Middle School's 65 ft. finback whale, will return to the Blanding Library on August 4th, 5th & 6th from 12-3 p.m. Find out some interesting facts about whales, make some WILD whale crafts, & crawl inside the belly of a whale. All ages welcome.

    What's the Buzz in Your Backyard?

    Wednesday, Aug. 6th at 6 p.m. Jerry, from Morpho Productions, VT, will bring his collection of fascinating insects and talk about these buzzy creatures that inhabit our backyards. After his slide presentation children will create their own amazing buggy t-shirts. Bring your own t-shirt (heavy 100% cotton, not navy or black) or Jerry will have some available for $4.00. This program is offered to those 6 years & older. Registration is Required.

    Fishing Poles Are Here!

    We now have 7 fresh water poles with reels, thread, and non-lead hooks with weights. Come in and check them out for up to 2 weeks. Please check state regulations regarding fishing licenses before you use the poles in our Palmer River or elsewhere.

    Explore the art of photography with Gabrielle Charbonneau. Learn techniques of some famous photographers while developing your own style. Bring a camera loaded with film.     An Enchanted Afternoon

    Monday, July 14th, 1-3 p.m. Time to head outdoors onto our front lawn and help build a Fairy Village. Use your creativity & imagination to build a house fit for a fairy. Each child is responsible for bringing an adult & natural building materials (twigs, leaves, shells, bark, etc.) and remember the rule of fairy house building...nothing artificial or living. Costumes welcome & Registration Requested. For all ages. Postponed if raining.
